Domestic Abuse Recovery Program

H.O.P.E has been awarded funds from Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Police and Crime Commissioner to deliver the Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Women & Men. This Toolkit has been devised and written by Sue Penna founder of Rockpool. This program is for anyone who has left the domestic abusive relationship or where there is no longer any abuse and the participant would like to focus on their recovery journey.

Our first program for this year started on 17th May 2021 (this course is now full) however we will be starting a program for women in September 2021 and for Men in November 2021 (the men’s program is run in conjunction with Imran Manzoor from Breaking the silence).

All of our programs are delivered on zoom and links are not shared until referral forms and assessments are completed for each participant.

About the Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit Programme

The Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit is a 12 week programme that helps participants understand the impact of having experienced domestic abuse, explaining how they were prevented from leaving an abusive relationship and the thinking patterns they developed as a method of managing the risk which can hold them back moving forward. The individual’s own strengths, resources and coping skills and resilience are reinforced contributing to their own health and wellness on a long-term basis.
