Domestic Abuse Recovery Program

In 2021 H.O.P.E. were awarded funds from Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Police and Crime Commissioner to deliver the Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Women & Men. This Toolkit has been devised and written by Sue Penna founder of Rockpool. This program is for anyone who has left the domestic abusive relationship or where there is no longer any abuse and the participant would like to focus on their recovery journey.

Our first program in 2021 for women started on 17th May 2021 (this course is now complete)

Our second program in 2021 for women started on Monday 13th September 2021 ( this course  is now complete.)

Our third program in 2022 will be for Male victims of domestic abuse starting on Thursday 24th February 2022 from 1-2pm  (the men’s program is run in conjunction with Imran Manzoor from Breaking the silence).

If you would like a space on the program register here or please email and we will take further details. You will not receive the link for the sessions until you have spoken to Meena or Imran and completed a pre-assessment interview this is to ensure you are suitable for this program.

Please note any spaces funded by Leicestershire Police Crime Commissioner is only for residents of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

H.O.P.E are offering another program for women in 2022. This is being funded by H.O.P.E and has 16 spaces. This course will start on Monday 21st February 2022 from 1-2:30pm. If you would like to self refer or refer someone you may know (consent required) please email Meena on or complete the information on this link and we will contact you.

You will not be approved for the program until you conduct the pre- assessment with Meena or Mita this is to ensure you are suitable for the program and the program is suitable for you.

All of our programs are delivered on zoom and links are not shared until referral forms and assessments are completed for each participant.

About the Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit Programme

The Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit is a 12 week programme that helps participants understand the impact of having experienced domestic abuse, explaining how they were prevented from leaving an abusive relationship and the thinking patterns they developed as a method of managing the risk which can hold them back moving forward. The individual’s own strengths, resources and coping skills and resilience are reinforced contributing to their own health and wellness on a long-term basis.
